Municipal Pumping Stations

Can SyncroFlo build a pump station to meet your system requirements?

SyncroFlo has built the two of the largest packaged pumping systems ever made. The first was the Stone Oak project in San Antonio , Texas , and the second and largest is the Bay County, Florida, project. Both of these stations have motors in the 300 to 600 HP range and piping in the range 36 and 48 inches in diameter.

If it can fit on a truck (or two or three), SyncroFlo can build it and test it.

SyncroFlo’s Product Diversity Advantage

In the municipal market where the applications vary across a wide scope, e.g. seal water, plant water, tank fill, grid and tank fill, grid distribution only, boosters, fire & domestic requiring FM approval, fire & domestic not requiring FM approval, land application, and reuse distributed to multiple customers. Not to mention the wide variety of custom control requirements and configurations within each of these. And anything can be variable speed. SyncroFlo is unique in that we are the only manufacturer that makes packaged pump systems for municipal, plumbing, HVAC, industrial, fire protection, turf and golf course irrigation. This diversity gives us the ability to apply the technologies that we have developed for any product market to design optimum solutions for each specific application. Scroll through the sample jobs to see some of the diversity.

Our ability to deal with custom applications is second to none.

Does SyncroFlo program its pump stations to work with third party communications systems?

Our variable speed PLC programs are sophisticated and powerful. We have programmed our PLC’s to communicate with a wide variety of telemetry RTU’s in the municipal market as well as with building control systems in the Commercial and HVAC markets. In addition, we have written our own software monitoring and remote control software for use with our irrigation pump stations. Does SyncroFlo program its pump stations to work with third party communication systems? Yes we do!

We use Allen-Bradley model XXXXXX controllers and XXXXXX drives. Does SyncroFlo?

SyncroFlo finds Mitsubishi controllers, Maple Systems operator interfaces, and Siemens VFD’s to offer the best overall value, and are preferred by our programmers. But we program in Allen-Bradley on a regular basis. We have multiple A-B programmers, are proficient with all major product lines, and are fortunate to have A-B factory support very close to our factory. In fact, it is just across the street.

What next?

Most municipal pumping stations will fall into one of five category. Click one to see sample projects.

Municipal pumping systems come in several general categories. In small towns and rural water systems, a SyncroFlo booster pump can serve all customers. In these cases, the pumping station is in the treatment plant. In many water systems, hilly terrain won’t allow water to reach certain subdivisions. A standalone pump station, with prebuilt building, enclosure, or vault, meets the application and logistic challenges. In treatment plants, treated water is used within the plant itself. Sizing these stations is different than sizing domestic loads. Seal water pumping is another common application in treatment plants. Here, pump failure can mean hours or even days of inoperable equipment. Not to mention the expensive repairs.
